Following an incident at the end of the game between the Newcastle Eagles and Bristol Flyers on January 16 2026, Marc Steutel was investigated by the SLB Disciplinary Panel.  

After reviewing the incident, Marc Steutel received 10 penalty points for verbal abuse from the Panel.

Super League Basketball operates a system of cumulative disciplinary points, and a one-game suspension comes into force whenever a person’s total penalty points reach (or exceed) each of the following totals: 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 etc.   

Coach Steutel will therefore be suspended for one game, and the suspension will be served for the SLB Championship fixture at away to Manchester Basketball onFebruary 18 2026.
