The Bristol Flyers have announced the return of Malcolm Delpeche, who has signed an initial one-year deal to return to the club for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball (SLB) and European North Basketball League (ENBL) seasons.
The British/American big is back for a third stint with the Flyers, having first joined the club in 2018, before returning for a second spell in 2021.
Delpeche spent three seasons with German ProB side WWU Baskets Münster following his first stint in Bristol, averaging 10.9 points and 7.7 rebounds across 83 appearances. He returned to the Flyers in 2021 and spent the next two seasons with the club, playing a key role in the team’s run to the 2022 Play-Offs.
Flyers fans will remember his game-changing defensive play in the second leg of the 2022 Play-Off Quarter-Final, when his crucial game-winning block against the Manchester Giants helped secure a memorable series victory for the club.
Delpeche went on to spend two seasons with the Newcastle Eagles, where he was part of the team that lifted the 2025 SLB Trophy, while also gaining valuable experience in the ENBL.
The forward joined the Caledonia Gladiators midway through the last season and now returns to Bristol ahead of the new campaign, set to begin his fourth season as a Flyer.
His return also means he will be reunited with his twin brother Marcus, with the pair set to share the court as teammates for the first time since their initial spell with the Flyers in 2018.
Speaking on his return to the Club, Delpeche said:
“Honestly, to come back for the 2026/27 season is surreal in a lot of ways. It hasn’t even really hit me yet, and I don’t think it will until I walk back through the doors at SGS.
“There were a lot of things that made me want to come back to Bristol. I had a really good conversation with Coach Kapoulas and I really liked the vision he outlined for the coming season. Playing in the ENBL and competing on the European stage is very exciting, and Bristol is by far the best city I’ve lived in during my career. I can’t wait to be back and return to my old stomping ground.
“I’m really looking forward to playing on the court with my brother again. The value of family and the opportunity to be close to him, especially when we’re away from home, is something you can’t put a price on.
“We always joked about how nice it would be to one day play on the same team again, and now we’re at a point in our careers where we have more basketball behind us than we do in front of us.To be back on the court together now with the same club feels like a full-circle moment.
“One of the things I know I can bring to this club is some defensive urgency. Whether that’s blocking a shot, being ready on the help side or communicating, I’m willing to do whatever it takes on the defensive end, and that’s one of the things I pride myself on in my game.
“I’ve played in this league for a number of years now, so I know what it takes to win, and I think using that experience will be very important to the team. I’m happy to be back and I’m excited to get to work.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said:
“Malcolm is a player we know very well and someone who has always been highly respected within our organisation. He brings experience and physicality to our roster, but just as importantly, he understands what it means to play for the Flyers and the standards we expect.
“His defensive presence and ability to make winning plays will be hugely important for us, while his experience of playing at this level and in the ENBL will add another dimension to our team.”
“Having Malcolm back in Bristol is great and I know how much it means to him to return to a club and a city that he has such a strong connection with. The fact that we’ll also get to see him and Marcus share the court again makes this a really special signing. I am delighted to welcome Malcolm home and can’t wait to get to work with him again.”
