Veteran Head Coach Atiba Lyons has made additions to his Super League Basketball roster ahead of this weekend’s Trophy action as the B.Braun Sheffield Sharks confirmed the signing of Rodney Chatman for the remainder of the season.
The 26-year-old American guard joins the team as the Sharks battle for supremacy in the Group Stages of the SLB Trophy. Chatman attended university at Chattanooga and Dayton but finished his NCAA experience with the Vanderbilt University Commodores.
Beginning his professional career with Team FOG Næstved in the Danish Basketligaen in the 2022/23 season, the 6’1″ guard spent the 2023/24 campaign with Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski in Polish OBL where he averaged 10 points, 1.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Reflecting on his move to Yorkshire, the American guard said:
“I can’t wait to join the team and hit the ground running. It seems like an exciting time to be a part of the Sharks with the new ownership and the new league.”
Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons is happy to welcome Chatman to the squad, adding:
