The Bristol Flyers have announced the acquisition of their first new face of the off-season as Australian guard Zac Triplett joins the club on a one-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 6’5″ shooting guard, with UK ancestry, joins the Flyers from Australian NBL1 North side Logan Thunder and will link up with his new teammates following the conclusion of the Australian summer season.
At just 24 years old, Triplett arrives in Bristol with an impressive résumé and a reputation as one of the most exciting perimeter threats in the NBL1 competition.
He began his NBL1 career with Keilor Thunder in 2021 before making the move to Logan Thunder, where he has spent the past three summers developing into one of the league’s standout performers.
Alongside his NBL1 commitments, Triplett gained valuable experience at the highest level of Australian basketball as a Development Player with Melbourne United and Illawarra Hawks. During his time with Illawarra, he was part of the Hawks squad that captured the 2025 NBL Championship title.
His performances also earned him international recognition, securing a place on the 2025 training camp roster for the Osceola Magic, the NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic.
Triplett has continued his strong form with Logan Thunder during the current NBL1 North campaign. At the time of writing, he is averaging 20.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, underlining his ability to impact all areas of the floor.
Speaking on his move to Bristol, Triplett said:
“I’m really excited to be joining the Flyers. I’ve never been to the UK before, but I’ve always wanted to play overseas and experience a different culture. Finding the right location and the right fit was really important to me, and after speaking with Coach Kapoulas about the club and the family environment they’ve built, it just felt like the perfect opportunity.
“He spoke about how close-knit the group was last season, and it reminded me a lot of the atmosphere we have in NBL1. That’s something I really value, and I can’t wait to become part of that.”
“Coach sees me playing on the wing while also helping as a secondary ball-handler to take some pressure off the point guard. I pride myself on being able to space the floor and shoot the ball at a high level, but I also love creating opportunities for my teammates.
“I’m competitive, I like to rebound and push the pace, and above everything else I just want to come in and help the team win as many games as possible.”
“I watched a few of the Flyers’ games from last season, both in the league and the ENBL, and you could really sense how much support the team gets. The atmosphere looked fantastic and you can tell the fans really get behind the club. The opportunity to play in the ENBL is really exciting as well. Getting the chance to compete in a European competition and play in different countries is something I’m really looking forward to.”
“I can’t wait to meet everyone and experience that family atmosphere for myself. I’ve heard it’s one of the best cities to live in, and ever since I signed my social media has been full of recommendations of places to visit! I’m looking forward to getting settled in, packing out the stands and hopefully giving the fans plenty of wins to celebrate this season.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas added:
“We’re very pleased to add Zac to our roster. He’s a player who has consistently improved throughout his career and has earned every opportunity through his work ethic and commitment to getting better.
“Zac brings a great combination of size, shooting ability and versatility on both ends of the floor. He has gained valuable experience within the Australian basketball system, including being part of a championship-winning NBL environment, and we believe those experiences will help him make a positive impact with our group.
“What stood out to us was not only his talent, but also his character and willingness to compete. He has the ability to score in different ways, make plays for his teammates and contribute across multiple positions. We’re excited to welcome him to Bristol and look forward to seeing him continue his development within our programme.”
Triplett becomes the first new face confirmed for Coach Kapoulas’ 2026/27 roster, joining returning players Marcus Delpeche, Cam Holden, Zach Anderson and Miloš Dugalić as preparations continue for the new season.
