The Caledonia Gladiators have announced the signings of Daniel Carr and Matthew Ragsdale, as Head Coach Jonny Bunyan continues to build his roster ahead of the 2025/26 Super League Basketball season.
Born in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Carr arrives in Scotland following a strong collegiate career in the United States. Most recently at Rockhurst University, and previously at Augustana College from 2019 to 2023, Carr built a reputation as a dominant presence on both ends of the floor.
Ragsdale, another Colorado native, joins the Gladiators following his first season pro with the Dresden Titians in Germany’s Pro A League, where he showcased his scoring ability with 11.7 points per game, shooting an impressive 42.2% from behind the arc.
During his NCAA III career, Carr averaged 13 points, 10.2 rebounds and one assist per game, with standout seasons including 17.7 points per game in 2020-21 and a remarkable 13.4 rebounds per game in 2021-22.
The new Gladiator forward also surpassed the 1,000-career point milestone, earning three CCIW All-Conference selections during his collegiate career.
Before turning pro, Ragsdale enjoyed a standout career at Black Hills State University and Western Colorado University, averaging 17.8 points per game.
Known for his elite shooting touch, he recorded career highs of 22.5 points per game in his 2023-24 season and 44.4% from three in his freshman year at Western Colorado University in the 2019-2020 season.
