Bristol Flyers have completed the signing of American guard Cam Christon, who joins the club for the remainder of the 2025/26 Super League Basketball season.
Christon arrives in Bristol having most recently featured for Mexican CIBACOPA side Rayos de Hermosillo, where he made 30 appearances and averaged 12.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, shooting an impressive 41% from three-point range.
British basketball fans will be most familiar with Christon from his time with the Cheshire Phoenix, where he was part of the team that lifted the 2024 British Basketball League Trophy, alongside Flyers guard Cam Holden.
Speaking on his return to British basketball, Christon said:
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to come here, make an impact, and do whatever I can to help the team be successful.
“I got a call from Coach Kapoulas on Sunday, and we had a great conversation. He felt I was the right person for the job, and just two days later I was here. I’m very thankful to him for giving me this opportunity.
“I’ve always remembered the fans in Bristol as being incredible. The Flyers have a reputation for playing aggressive basketball, so I’m excited to come in, add to that identity, and play the style of basketball I love.”
Christon enjoyed a successful college career at Grambling State University, which culminated in being named the 2022/23 Southwestern Athletic Conference player of the year.
He played a pivotal role for the Tigers during the 2022/23 season, helping the team finish with a conference-best 15–3 record, posting averages of 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said:
“Cam is a player we’ve known about for a while. He offers valuable league experience, size and versatility on the wing, and the ability to score in a variety of ways, which is crucial for us at this point in the season.
“What stands out the most is his competitiveness – he knows what it takes to win in this environment. We’re confident he’ll bring added depth, flexibility, and a new dimension to our group as we move forward.”
Christon arrived in Bristol on Wednesday and is set to make his Flyers debut this Friday against Manchester Basketball away from home (7.30pm tip-off).
