Fan favourite forward Skyler White has been confirmed as Ben Thomas’ first signing of the summer for the Cheshire Phoenix as the Ellesmere Port club look to build a roster capable of challenging for top honours in Super League Basketball.
The 31-year-old hailing from Seattle, Washington, heads into his third season in the north-west and has been a key piece in Coach Thomas’ rotation thus far with his three-point shooting and leadership qualities.
Across 30 Championship fixtures last year, White averaged a smudge shy of 12 points per game in 25 minutes per contest, adding over four rebounds a night, with a season-high 22 points coming against Manchester Basketball back in December.
The 6’7” forward ranked in the top 10 league-wide for three-point shooting percentage (minimum 100 attempts) and made the most three-pointers of all players in Super League Basketball during the 2024/25 campaign.
Discussing his return to Ellesmere Port, White said:
“This is my home. There’s nowhere I’d rather be. I’m proud to wear the Cheshire colours. I can’t say enough about how much I love the fans. Let’s get back to being top dogs!”
Phoenix Head Coach Ben Thomas added:
“Over the last two seasons, Skyler has shown his passion and desire to play for the club and, as a coach, that’s all we can ask for. I know he is the type of player to leave it all out on the court every night.
“He has become vital to our style of play and is the centrepiece of what we do. I’m looking forward to another season with him and I know we’re both hoping to bring more success back to the Nix Nation.”
