Tipping off the 2025/26 awards season, Caledonia Gladiator Kyle Jimenez has won the first honour of the post-season as he scooped the Molten Community Champion Award for his tireless work away from Super League Basketball action.
Jimenez has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the club’s community pathway, consistently going above and beyond his role. Working across all age groups, he has brought energy, care, and professionalism to every environment he enters. His impact has been particularly felt with the Scottish Championship Under-14 boys’ team, where he has taken the initiative to support players and coaches as both a mentor and leader, helping to raise standards across the programme while developing young athletes on and off the court.
Giving his time voluntarily, Kyle regularly attends fixtures midweek and at weekends, often following demanding SLB double-header schedules, demonstrating a deep commitment to the team and wider community. His selflessness, leadership, and genuine care for others have strengthened connections within the programme and beyond.
Reflecting on his win, Jimenez said:
“It’s a great honour to win the Molten Community Champion award, and extra special for me personally being Scottish and being able to help the Scottish basketball community and inspiring the youth. I know how important it is for the youth to have role models that they can relate too and see that they do have the opportunity achieve such goals.
“Thank you to Caledonia Gladiators for being able to support me whilst doing community sessions and attending youth games. It’s been a privilege to work with the youth teams and coaches involved with the club.”
