A four-game weekend in the SLB saw the Trophy competition commence, as the road to Birmingham began.
Meanwhile, the action in the Championship continued as the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks travelled to Scotland to face the Caledonia Gladiators.
Manchester Basketball 77-82 Cheshire Phoenix (TRO)
A memorable final two minutes from the Cheshire Phoenix handed them an 82-77 road win at Manchester Basketball in Group 2.
However, in truth, the Phoenix could have avoided their game-winning run at the end, as they had led by as many as 16 points before Manchester came roaring back in the early stages of the final quarter.
Free throws from Max Jones gave the hosts a 73-68 lead with 3:40 to play, and the momentum was on their side until Cheshire finished the game with a 16-4 burst that gave them the win.
Michael Diggins paced the Phoenix with 20 points and seven rebounds, helped by 15 from Patrick Robinson. Gabriel Osbuhein amassed 19 points on 53% shooting for Manchester.

Cheshire Phoenix 98-78 Leicester Riders (TRO)
Cheshire Phoenix made it two wins from two in the Trophy, with a comfortable 98-78 success over the Leicester Riders at the Cheshire Oaks Arena.
Jaxon Brenchley led a balanced scoring attack for the Phoenix with 19 points, and LaQuincy Rideau enjoyed a triple-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners, as they were in control for almost the entirety against a Riders side that shot 34% from the floor and committed 20 turnovers.
Conversely, Cheshire scored 25 points off those 20 giveaways and hit ten three-pointers.

Surrey 89ers 79-97 Bristol Flyers (TRO)
Bristol Flyers overpowered the Surrey 89ers in the first quarter, en route to a convincing 97-79 win in Group 3.
Cam Holden drilled a three-pointer midway through the first period to give the Flyers a commanding 15-2 lead, which eventually became a 19-9 advantage heading into the second.
From there, Bristol was able to maintain the cushion, stretching their lead to as many as 29 points with Zach Anderson going 4/8 from three-point land to lead six Flyers players in double figures with 19 points.
Kino Lily Jr. led Surrey with 16 points on a night to forget, but with the talent the Niners have, they will wipe this game from their memory and look to bounce back.

Caledonia Gladiators 65-73 B. Braun Sheffield Sharks
In the only Championship game over the weekend, the B. Braun Sheffield Sharks battled back from a ten-point deficit to ground out a 73-65 road win over the Caledonia Gladiators at PlaySport on Friday.
Trailing 35-30 at the break, the Sharks battled back from a 44-34 deficit in the early stages of the third to take a one-point lead going into the fourth.
From there, they outscored the Gladiators 22-15 in the fourth to settle a hard-fought contest. Nick Kern and William Lee both had 16 points to lead Sheffield, with the latter grabbing eight rebounds.
Kevin Allen had a game-high 18 points for Caledonia.
