The Bristol Flyers are continuing their rapid start to the off-season, confirming they have completed the signing of American star Cam Holden, following the expiration of his contract with the Cheshire Phoenix.
The 6’5″ versatile guard becomes the third member of Coach Kapoulas’ 2025/26 roster, following confirmation of Owen McCormack‘s return and the signing of British guard Jonathan Brown last week, and joins the club on a one-year deal.
Holden brings a wealth of experience to the south-west, having spent the first two years of his professional career in Ellesmere Port, becoming a crucial part of Ben Thomas’ roster by the conclusion of his sophomore season.
Holden’s second-season performance with the Phoenix caught headlines, as his numbers doubled in comparison to his rookie campaign in Cheshire, concluding 2024/25 with 14.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in the Championship.
Speaking on his decision to join the Flyers, Holden said:
“You’re always excited for new opportunities as a basketball player and Bristol has given me a great opportunity to move forward in my career.
“Coach Kapoulas wants me to play a hybrid role on the team. I’m a player that’s able to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor and make the people around me better.
“One thing I remember about playing against the Flyers is that they always play with toughness on the defensive end. I feel like Coach Kapoulas’ style of basketball really suits my game, so hopefully the Flyers fans welcome me with open arms.”
Holden spent the final two years of his collegiate career at Towson, where earned first-Team All-CAA honours in 2022 and became the second player in program history to record a triple-double in a game during the 2022/23 campaign.
