Super League Basketball is delighted to announce the winner of the Molten Sixth Player of the Year award for the 2025/26 season, following a voting process involving the League’s Head Coaches, Captains and select members of the media.
Cheshire Phoenix guard Patrick Robinson scoops this year’s title after the 26-year-old shone in his debut season for the Cheshire Phoenix, helping lead the side to second in the Championship as well as semi-final berths in the Trophy and Cup competitions.
Starting in only two of his 28 Championship outings for the Phoenix, Robinson ranks top of SLB in points scored with 20 per game and also leads in two-point percentage, with 60.8%. The American has also already secured Molten All-League Team of the Year honours this awards season.
Reflecting on his success, Robinson said:
“Winning Molten Sixth Man of the Year is a true blessing and it is a unique award. This is my second time winning it in my career and I couldn’t be any more grateful and give all the glory to God.
“Playing for Cheshire Phoenix has been a joy all year and I have really embraced my role of coming off the bench. Coach Thomas felt that me being the sixth man would put our team in a position to win. I’ve had success and I’m ultra confident in my ability to come into a game and make a positive impact. I’m grateful for getting the opportunity to play in this league and have loved everything about being here. This felt like home considering it being so far away from where I reside in the States.”
Cheshire Phoenix Head Coach Ben Thomas added:
“Firstly, I want to say how pleased and happy I am for Pat. It’s a great personal accomplishment for him and one that we have spoken about for as long as I can remember with him.
“We as a club have had somebody win this award in recent years and it made us a successful team, having a strong bench including somebody who can come in and change games, so credit to him for accepting that role and flourishing in it.
“It has worked out very well for him as an individual and really helped us as a team to find success as well, so I’m very happy for him and he’s a very deserving winner.”
