Sharks retain Great Britain international centre, Fahro Alihodzic

The B. Braun Sheffield Sharks have announced the re-signing of Fahro Alihodzic for the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season.

The 36-year-old experienced forward, hailing from Vlasenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, rejoins the Sharks for the 2026/27 campaign. After joining the Sharks in February 2026, Fahro averaged 12 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Alihodzic brings a wealth of experience having also previously played at several clubs in the UK as well as elsewhere in Europe.

Fahro is looking forward to returning to the Sharks for 2026/27:

“I’m very happy to be re-joining for next season. I really gelled with the coaching staff and everyone at the club as it felt very welcoming when I arrived mid-season in 2025-26. I know what I can bring to a team at this level and I’m looking forward to a full season in Sheffield playing in front of our incredible supporters.”

Sharks Head Coach Atiba Lyons stated:

“Fahro made an immediate impact on the team when he joined us last season. He has invaluable experience that can help us as a team both on and off the court and I’m sure he will be a great asset for us for a full season in 2026/27.”
