Bristol Flyers have completed their 2026/27 roster with the signing of American guard Davion Bailey.
The 6’4″ guard joins the Flyers after an impressive first taste of professional basketball in Colombia, where he spent the summer playing for Paisas de Medellín in the Colombian Liga Profesional de Baloncesto (LPB), where he averaged 20.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Bailey arrives in Bristol following a standout two-year spell with the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Cardinals, where he developed into one of the leading scorers in the Southland Conference.
During his senior season in 2025/26, Bailey averaged 18.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 35.7% from three-point range on 8.8 attempts per game.
He finished the campaign with 94 made three-pointers and scored 20 or more points on 14 occasions, including a career-high 36-point performance against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Now, the 24-year-old set to make the move to the UK and join the Flyers ahead of the new SLB and ENBL campaign.
Speaking on his move to Bristol, Bailey said: “It feels good – it’s a true blessing. Playing professional basketball is something I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned just how good overseas basketball is. Being able to sign a professional contract is an opportunity that not everyone gets, so I’m really blessed to have this opportunity and I’m going to make the most of it.
“As soon as the interest was there, I did my research straight away. I wanted to know where Bristol was, what kind of league it was and what the club was all about. I spent the next week watching Flyers games, studying the team and I really enjoyed watching the environment you guys play in.
“I feel like my game really fits into the way that Coach Kapoulas likes to play. I can shoot the ball and space the floor, but I can also play in ball screens and create opportunities for my teammates.
“I also love interacting with fans because I think the fans are what make the game so fun. Being able to give people that feeling and the satisfaction of winning is what it’s all about, so I’m really excited to meet the Flyers family and get started.”
Flyers Head Coach Andreas Kapoulas said: “We’re really excited to welcome Davion to Bristol and have him complete our roster for the 2026/27 season.
“He’s coming off a very impressive college career at Incarnate Word, where he proved himself as one of the leading scorers in the Southland Conference and showed his ability to consistently produce at a high level.
“What stood out to us was his ability to score in a variety of ways. He’s a very good three-point shooter, he can create his own shot, he’s comfortable playing in ball-screen situationsand he has the ability to make plays for his teammates. He also brings a lot of confidence and competitiveness to his game.
“We had some really good conversations about basketball and how we want to play, and it was clear that Davion understood what we’re looking for. Our defensive identity is extremely important to us, and we believe he has the tools and mentality to make an impact at both ends of the floor.
“For Davion, this is an exciting next step in his career, and we’re looking forward to helping him continue to develop as a player while giving him the opportunity to make an impact with us. We believe he’s a very good fit for what we’re building here in Bristol, and we’re delighted to have him on board.”
Bailey’s arrival completes the Bristol Flyers roster for the 2026/27 season, with the team preparing for another campaign competing across Super League Basketball and the European North Basketball League (ENBL).
