The Caledonia Gladiators have tonight concluded their search for a new Head Coach of the Men’s roster at Playsport as the East Kilbride Club have announced the appointment of British basketball coaching legend Robbie Peers for the remainder of the season.
Peers has enjoyed a coaching career of the highest calibre with an incredible track record in British basketball, with the Gladiators excited about the wealth of experience the former Cheshire Phoenix coach will bring with him to Playsport.
Peers established himself as one of the most successful and respected coaches in the history of top-flight British basketball in the early 00s, winning every team accolade during his tenure with the team then known as the Chester Jets.
His extensive experience and strategic insight will be invaluable as he looks to elevate the men’s side in the Super League Basketball season, and he’ll be joined by fellow British basketball icon James Hamilton who heads to Scotland as Assistant Head Coach.
This announcement signifies the conclusion of Spanish play-caller Lluis Riera’s tenure as interim Head Coach, who will be leaving the team to return to Spain.
