Coach Kapoulas to take a break from GB National Team Assistant Coach role

Coach Kapoulas is set to take a break from his role as Assistant Coach of the Great Britain Men’s National Team, a position he has held alongside his Flyers responsibilities since 2020.

Kapoulas joined the GB Senior setup five years ago, contributing to multiple international windows, EuroBasket qualifying campaigns, and most recently at EuroBasket this past summer, where he helped guide GB through one of the sport’s biggest international stages against some of the best players in the world.

His time with the national programme has seen him work closely with some of the country’s top talent while bringing valuable international insights back to the Flyers programme.

Reflecting on his decision, Kapoulas said:

“I am deeply grateful for the past five years with the men’s national team. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as an assistant coach and to work alongside Marc, our players, and the entire staff while representing Great Britain.

“This experience has meant a great deal to me, and I truly appreciate the remarkable moments we’ve shared as a group.

“I wish the team every success in the upcoming window. It has been a challenging period for our sport, and now more than ever, we must all rally behind the team as they begin their World Cup Qualifiers journey.”
