Fresh from being announced as the new Head Coach of the Caledonia Gladiators, Robbie Peers has wasted no time in making his mark on the roster as he’s announced six changes to his squad ahead of the first game of his tenure on Friday night.
With three departures and three new names coming in, Coach Peers’ squad will look quite different to the one that bested the London Lions in Lluis Riera’s final game as Interim Head Coach last weekend, with Peers shuffling his pack ahead of his Super League Basketball coaching debut.
Talented imports Isaiah Hill, Tanner Stuckman and Nick Tomsick have been confirmed as moving on from the Playsport Arena, with Pittsburgh-born Jared Wilson Frame, Malik Dunbar from South Carolina and New Jersey’s Elijah Cain brought in to bolster the Gladiators’ ranks for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
6’5 American guard Jared Wilson-Frame recently played for Marineros de Puerto Plata in Dominican Republic LNB, after starting his career playing at Northwest Florida State College with his final two college years at Pittsburgh in the ACC.
Following his time at Pittsburgh, Wilson-Frame played across the world, including Belgium and New Zealand, as well as spending time in the NBA G League, recently making appearances for Boston Celtics G league affiliate team the Maine Celtics during the 2023/24 season and appearing in the NBA Summer League for Orlando in 2022.
Malik Dunbar is a 6’6 American shooting guard who joins following his most recent stint with the Indonesian side RANS Simba Bogor in the Indonesia-IBL. Dunbar started his career at the College of South Central Florida before transferring to Division 1 school, Auburn University for his final two years of college.
Following College, Dunbar had the opportunity to play for the Golden State Warriors during the NBA’s Summer League before taking his talents overseas to play in the likes of Egypt and Germany, with time spent in the NBA G League throughout his career.
The final signing brings 6’6 American guard Elijah Cain who started playing his college ball at De Paul University, where he spent four years as a Blue Demon. His strong performance at De Paul saw him leave as the first player in the team’s history to record 1,400 career points, 350 assist and 150 three pointers.
Leaving De Paul, Cain headed to Luxembourg and Ukraine to start his professional career, before heading back to the States to play in the NBA G League, playing with the South Bay Lakers, Memphis Hustle and most recently the Salt Lake City Stars.
Discussing the changes to his roster, Coach Peers said:
“We wish Isaiah Hill, Tanner Stuckman, and Nick Tomsick the very best of luck in their careers as they say goodbye to Caledonia Gladiators.
“Signing Wilson-Frame, Dunbar and Cain comes at an important time for us in the league and we look forward to welcoming them into the team as we go on to strive for success.”
